Registered Nurse - Medical-Surgical/Telemetry
Job Summary
This Registered Nurse position is located in Zanesville, Ohio, within an acute care hospital setting. The primary assignment will be on the Respiratory unit, which cares for patients with various respiratory conditions, including COVID-19. Additionally, the role may involve floating to other Medical-Surgical units such as Wound Care, Stroke, Oncology, Cardiac, Observation, and ED boarders, requiring adaptability to diverse patient populations.
The successful candidate will provide comprehensive nursing care, monitor patient conditions, administer medications, and collaborate effectively with an interdisciplinary team. This role demands strong clinical skills in both respiratory care and general medical-surgical nursing, with a specific emphasis on telemetry monitoring.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care to a diverse adult population, including respiratory and general medical-surgical patients.
- Monitor and assess patient conditions, including telemetry readings, and report changes to the medical team.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring patient safety and adherence to protocols.
- Document patient care accurately and thoroughly in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, advanced practice providers, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Educate patients and families on health conditions, treatment plans, and discharge instructions.
- Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients, adhering to all hospital policies and procedures.
- Float to various Med-Surg units as needed, demonstrating flexibility and proficiency across different patient populations and care requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Ohio.
- Minimum of three (3) years of current and recent experience in Telemetry and/or Stepdown units.
- Demonstrated proficiency in reading and interpreting telemetry rhythms.
- Current proficiency with Epic Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system; no EMR training or refreshers will be provided.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Shift Details
- Shift Type: Nights
- Hours: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM (12-hour shifts)
- Days per week: 3 days per week (36 hours total)
- Weekend Rotation: Every other weekend required.
- Call Requirements: No call required.
- Contract Length: 13 weeks.
- Start Date: September 21, 2026.
