Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Medical Surgical – Michigan

Location: Marshall, Michigan

Schedule: Every other weekend required; holiday coverage as needed

Requirements:

• Active Michigan RN license required at time of application
• Minimum 2 years of recent Medical Surgical nursing experience
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification (must be in hand at submission)
• Current American Heart Association ACLS certification (must be in hand at submission)
• Current Medical Surgical skills checklist (within 1 year)
• One supervisory reference from within the past two years
• Reliable personal transportation required
• Must reside more than 50 miles from facility location

Responsibilities:

• Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessments; develop and update individualized care plans in collaboration with patients and healthcare team
• Provide direct nursing care, evaluate patient outcomes, and adjust interventions as needed
• Utilize technology appropriately including electronic medical records, safety standards, and infection prevention protocols
• Educate patients and family members on care plans, procedures, and health maintenance
• Participate in unit-based performance improvement activities, staff meetings, and peer review processes
• Report actual or potential safety occurrences according to established procedures
• Practice in accordance with Michigan State nursing regulations, including appropriate delegation and supervision
