Floating to other units is expected at times with this position. Confirmation of this conversation must occur before final signature. Experience of 2 years is required. First-time travelers are accepted. Every other weekend coverage is required. Locals are not accepted. No pending licenses will be accepted. The RTO policy states if one holiday falls within the assignment, expect to work it; if two holidays, expect to work one; if three, expect to work two. Any time off requests must be included in submission covers and in assignment confirmation documents. This is a fast-paced inpatient surgical unit requiring previous surgical experience. General surgical cases include abdominal surgery, urological surgery, orthopedic surgery, hysterectomy, mastectomy, spine surgery, and bariatric surgery. Candidates must be comfortable with pediatric surgical patients aged 12 and above, depending on the surgical procedure. The unit may not guarantee block scheduling but will attempt to group shifts together if available. Patient ratios are 6 for days, nights, and weekends. Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, and pharmacy. A zero-tolerance policy for THC is in place. Medical marijuana cards are not accepted. Fit testing is required, and travelers must comply with shaving for the test. If an exemption is needed, a letter from an approved provider must be obtained before arriving onsite.
