Description:
This position is for a Registered Nurse in the Medical Surgical specialty.
The nurse will care for acute care patients with various diagnoses including infection, renal, cardiac, pulmonary, oncology, orthopedic, bariatric, pre-transplant, observation, and psychology.
Patients may stay for only a few hours to a day, especially during high census periods.
The nurse will work with many patients in one shift due to high patient turnover.
The role involves a vast variety of patient conditions received from the emergency department.
Nurses will receive additional required training to care for a diverse range of patients.
Candidates should be prepared to learn new and challenging skills.
Patient ratios are 1:4-5 during shifts.
Every other weekend is required.
Floating within the service line is expected to meet facility needs.
Candidates who are first-time travelers are accepted.
The ability to interpret and manage dysrhythmias is required.
Special equipment used includes Alaris pumps, CPAPs, BIPAPs, bladder scanners, lifts, hover mats, EKGs, and scales.
The work setting involves interdisciplinary support from various teams including IV Teams, Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Social Services, and Pharmacy.
A commitment to fulfill the terms of the contract is expected.
All required certifications must be obtained by the compliance hard document deadline.
