Travel Nurse RN - Medical-Surgical - $2,102 per week in Saint Louis, MO

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience required License: Pending license accepted Certifications: ACLS BLS NIHSS Must-Have: Experience with the management of dysrhythmias Experience with pre/post neurosurgery patients Ability to care for surgical drains Description: The Registered Nurse will work on a neurosurgery unit specializing in pre- and post-operative care for cranial and spinal surgery patients. The unit is also equipped to handle general neurology and stroke patients. The nurse will be responsible for monitoring and caring for patients with intermittently drained lumbar and surgical drains. This position does not involve managing drips that require titration. The nurse will not care for patients with tracheostomies, total laryngectomies, external ventricular drains, fresh TPA administration, or arterial lines. The nurse will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team including physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy. The working environment is focused on patient safety and innovative healthcare practices. The unit utilizes advanced healthcare technologies to enhance patient care and comfort. All necessary equipment and tools required for patient care will be provided. Nurses will participate in the development and implementation of new healthcare workflows. Floating within the service line may be required as needed. The facility has a committed team available to provide 24/7 support for patient care. The daily census for the unit is approximately 18 patients. Engagement in continuous professional development and compliance with health and safety regulations is expected.
