Travel Nurse RN - Medical-Surgical - $2,116 per week in Saint Louis, MO

Candidates must provide excellent care to patients. Strong documentation skills are essential. A collaborative team-oriented mindset is required. IV skills and phlebotomy are mandatory. Two years of medical-surgical experience is required. Nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:4-6. Candidates must be willing to work weekends, every other weekend. Certifications required include BLS and ACLS. Skills required are Med/Surg experience, telemetry remote monitoring, colostomy care, and feeding tube care and management. Additional skills include blood product administration and peripheral line care/management. Nurses will need to manage EKG interpretation and the management of dysrhythmias. The unit administers specific drips such as heparin and amiodarone. Nurses should have basic knowledge of centralized telemetry. Special procedures performed include Foley catheter insertions and continuous bladder irrigation. Experience with colorectal patient protocols is beneficial. Interdisciplinary support includes IV teams, physical therapy, and social services. The unit census averages 32 patients. The environment includes caring for patients with conditions such as ostomies and bladder cancer. Candidates should be prepared to float within their service line as required.
