Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years; Will accept first-time travelers. License: Current nursing license required. Certifications: BLS; Oncology certification preferred. Must-Have: Experience in an inpatient setting. Medsurg skills. Experience with colostomy care, accessing ports, blood product administration, central line blood draw, and peripheral line care/management. Familiarity with PICC line management, heparin, insulin, surgical drains, and chest tubes. Competence in nasal cannula, non-invasive airway management, isolation precautions, and wound care/wound vac. Description: Registered Nurse needed for a Medical Surgical unit. RTO after booking is not allowed, and cannot be worked out onsite. Any call-offs or additional RTO on unit could possibly lead to a cancel. Manager is seeking skilled RNs for this MS/Onc unit. Must be able to administer chemotherapy if needed. Target ratios are 1:6. Floating may be required to similar units and alternate care locations. Every other weekend is required. Attendance to monthly staff meetings is expected. Daily Census consists of approximately 42 patients. Contract staff must be willing to work during catastrophic events, mass casualties, or disasters. Contract staff may be preassigned to various units as required. Candidates should have experience managing chemotherapy and biotherapy administration. Additional requirements may include participation in a storm team. Candidates should be open to floating within and near the facility. Special skills or certifications may be beneficial but can be trained on-site if necessary. Successful candidates will need to pass EKG testing prior to start.
