Description:
Float required to all designated campus locations.
Epic experience is preferred.
First-time travelers are not accepted unless they have 3-5 years of experience.
Required weekend shifts will equal one per week of contact, which may be every other weekend or spread across weekends.
Clinicians may float within scope to meet facility needs, including any medical surgical unit as primary RN or as a 1:1 observer.
May be assigned to care for boarding medical surgical patients in the emergency department.
No scheduled on-call shifts, though may be placed on standby.
Daily patient ratios during night shifts are 5 patients per nurse.
Examples of diagnoses seen include COPD, stroke, total joint, sepsis, colorectal surgery, bariatric surgery, pneumonia, trauma, altered mental status, renal failure, bowel obstruction, oncology, and withdrawal.
Interdisciplinary support includes IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, and pharmacy.
Candidates must have no employment gaps greater than 30 days within the required work history.
Local candidates are not accepted.
Submission of all required certifications is mandatory.
Two professional references are required, with at least one from a manager.
Epic experience is strongly preferred, especially for RN positions.
Candidates who cancel an assignment with fewer than 14 days' notice will be designated as Do Not Return within the system.
Modules are completed during orientation and renewed annually.
Module time is non-billable if completed within the first hours of orientation.
Candidates must provide education details for every degree earned, including area of study, degree type, and institution.
