Travel Nurse RN - Medical-Surgical - $2,149 per week in Topeka, KS

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical (Post-Surgical: Abdominal/Colorectal) Duration: 26 weeks Shift: 7 AM - 7 PM Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 1 year Medical Surgical experience required License: Must hold a valid nursing license Certifications: AHA BLS required Must-Have: - RN with experience in Medical Surgical nursing - Experience in progressive care or step down is a plus - Ability to float to other post-surgical and medical surgical inpatient floors Description: This position involves caring for patients who have undergone various surgical procedures, including colorectal surgeries and other major abdominal surgeries. The unit also handles urological, orthopedic, and plastic surgeries, as well as specialty wound care and management of surgical drains. Staff-to-patient ratios are maintained at 1:6 to ensure quality care. Navy scrub color is standard for the unit. Visible tattoos are permitted as long as they are not considered offensive or inappropriate for a professional setting. Jewelry and body adornments must not interfere with job duties and should maintain a professional appearance. Immunity status for Hep B, MMR, and Varicella is required through either a titer or proof of vaccination completion. Documentation for TDaP, Influenza (or exemption request), and TB is also necessary.
