Travel Nurse RN - Medical-Surgical - $2,164 per week in Uniontown, PA

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: Med Surg (Medical Surgical) Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: 12-Hour Nights Hours per Shift: 12 Hours Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Active RN License Required Certifications: BLS Certification Must-Have: Candidates must disclose any professional license hits at time of submission. Description: The unit features 29 beds, all private. Ratios are 1:6-7. There is a Clinical Manager Mon-Sat who acts as both charge nurse and nurse manager. Charge nurses do not take patients unless the census exceeds 24. Nights have a resource nurse who takes a full patient assignment. There are 2 CNAs on days, but no CNAs on nights. Staff is required to work every other weekend and two Fridays per schedule. Most staff group Friday shifts with weekend shifts for convenience. Holidays are included in the permanent staff holiday rotation. Scrub color is navy blue, and jackets, if worn, must also be navy blue. Patients may be on remote telemetry, managed by the monitor tech on another floor. No cardiac drips are administered; Drips that may be used include heparin and possibly MSO4 for comfort measures. Ventilation management (Bipap, Cpap, High Flow) is performed by respiratory therapy. All registered nurses work 12-hour shifts from 7 PM to 7:30 AM. Certified nursing assistants work 8-hour shifts from 6 AM to 2:30 PM and from 2 PM to 10:30 PM. Self-scheduling and blocked schedules are allowed, provided unit needs are met. Floating would only be to other Med Surg units as necessary. Orientation consists of one shift with a preceptor. Patients primarily consist of medical-surgical cases, pneumonia, dialysis, palliative care, hospice, end-of-life care, and chemotherapy. Currently, COVID patients are housed in designated areas, requiring comfort with both clean and dirty patient assignments. Candidates must be adaptable to various patient situations encountered in this role.
