Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years experience required License: Active Registered Nurse License Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Previous charge experience preferred Experience with charting system required Description: Nurse will be responsible for providing care in a surgical orthopedic setting. The role requires management of various patient conditions, primarily surgical and orthopedic issues. Daily patient ratio is 4-5 during the day shifts and 5 during the night shifts. Nurse will utilize Epic for charting and documentation. Skills required include the ability to manage ports, administer blood products, and care for surgical drains. Experience with continuous bladder irrigation and feeding tube management is essential. In addition, candidates should be familiar with post-operative care, including total joint replacements and tracheostomy management. Collaboration with interdisciplinary support teams is necessary for effective patient care. Nurse should demonstrate the ability to interpret arterial blood gases and manage various medical procedures. Patient demographics include adults and geriatrics. Daily census typically includes around 20 patients. A wide range of surgical and orthopedic diagnoses will be encountered.
