This position requires basic knowledge of the pathophysiology of cancer. The nurse will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for patients on this unit. Regular assessment of patient needs and provision of skilled nursing services as prescribed by the physician's authorized plan of care is essential. Direct patient care includes nursing assessment, medication administration, treatments, assisting with transfers, and responding to alarms. The nurse will evaluate the effectiveness of the treatment plan and patients' conditions to make suggestions and participate in updating or revising the treatment plan in collaboration with other team members. Processing physician orders and performing ordered care accurately, completely, and in a timely manner is required. Follow-up regarding medication changes and order clarifications is necessary.
