Travel Nurse RN - Medical-Surgical - $2,184 per week in New York City, NY

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Med/Surg Duration: 14 Shift: 7:30 PM - 8:00 AM Hours per Shift: 11.5 Experience: Minimum two (2) years Med/Surg experience in a large acute care hospital setting. The most recent experience should be within the past year. License: Client RN License & Primary Source Verification Certifications: AHA BLS, AHA ACLS (if applicable) Must-Have: - MED/SURG NURSING - PHYSICAL ASSESSMENT - MEDICATION ADMINISTRATION - WOUND CARE - INFECTION CONTROL Description: Assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care plans in consultation with healthcare professionals. Evaluating medical information, as well as providing direct and individualized bedside nursing care to pre-and post-surgery patients. Preparing, administering, and recording prescribed medications. Changing dressings, inserting catheters, and starting IVs. Adjusting specialized medical equipment as needed, as well as interpreting and recording measurements. Monitoring patients' vitals and reporting adverse reactions to medications in a timely manner. Collaborating on discharge planning with the healthcare team. Answering questions and educating patients and their families on surgical procedures and post-surgery care. Maintaining and updating patient files, medical charts, and health records. Adhering to best nursing practices, standards, and protocols. Additional skills include post-operative care, patient education, telemetry monitoring, and IV therapy. Preferred skills include EPIC EMR experience.
