Travel Nurse RN - Medical-Surgical - $2,185 per week in Lincoln, NE

Job Title: Med Surg RN Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 15 weeks Shift: 12-Hour Days Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 1 year License: Required Certifications: BLS Must-Have: Ability to pass a skills exam during orientation Description: Registered Nurses will be required to pass an exam on skills learned during orientation. This exam is open book and candidates are provided with all necessary resources. A minimum score of 90% is required to pass. Candidates must not be full-time, part-time, or PRN with any associated facilities. A driver's license will be required and used to determine eligibility based on distance. Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care areas. Refusal to comply will result in termination of contract. The Med/Surg department has updated nurse-to-patient ratios. The nurse ratio will be 1:6 or 1:7, with the support of a certified nursing assistant. The CNA ratio will also be 1:6 or 1:7. A virtual nurse will assist with a ratio of 1:30. The department features 42 beds and handles medical, surgical, and orthopedic patients. A charge nurse is present on each shift and takes an assignment. There are no titratable drips, except for Heparin. Respiratory therapy is available 24 hours on the floor. Centralized telemetry stations are available. Nursing aids or patient care technicians are present with a ratio of 1:6 or 1:7. Shifts are from 06:30 to 19:00 and 18:30 to 07:00. Weekend and holiday work may be required as needed. There is no call or standby requirement. Floating to other units may be necessary. Scrubs are provided and are navy blue in color. There will be classroom orientation followed by shifts on the floor.
