Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical

Job Summary

Join our team as a dedicated Medical Surgical Registered Nurse for a 13-week travel assignment in Aberdeen, Washington. This role offers the opportunity to provide comprehensive nursing care to a diverse patient population within an acute care setting.

The successful candidate will be a vital part of an interdisciplinary healthcare team, focusing on patient assessment, medication administration, and collaborative care planning to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care to a diverse medical-surgical patient population.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring patient safety and adherence to protocols.
  • Monitor patient conditions, accurately document observations, and report changes to the healthcare team.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans.
  • Collaborate effectively with physicians, other nurses, and ancillary staff to coordinate patient care.
  • Participate in patient and family education regarding health conditions and discharge planning.
  • Float to other departments as needed, based on facility requirements and rotation schedules.
Required Qualifications
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of Meditech Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
Skills & Competencies
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
  • Proficiency in medication administration and patient monitoring.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as a team player.
  • Adaptability and flexibility to float to various departments as required.

Shift Details
  • Contract Length: 13 weeks
  • Shift Type: Nights (NOC)
  • Shift Duration: 12 hours
  • Days per Week: 3 days (36 hours per week)
  • Start Time: 6:45 PM
  • End Time: 7:15 AM
  • Weekend Rotation: Every other weekend off
  • Call Requirements: Not specified.
  • Start Date: August 31, 2026
  • Additional: Opportunity to pick up extra shifts. Approved Request Time Off (RTO) must be added to the end of the contract.
Licensing Requirements
  • Current Washington State Registered Nurse (RN) license OR a Multi-state/Compact RN license.
  • Verification requirements for Multi-state/Compact licenses:
    • Approved 6-hour suicide training.
    • Verification of demographics from Nursys.
