Job Title: RN Centralized Registry Float Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Days Hours per Shift: 7am - 7pm Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience required License: Indiana RN license or compact license required Certifications: BLS through AHA required Must-Have: Candidate must have at least 1.5 years of Level 1, Level 2, or tertiary experience. Candidate must have at least 1 year of experience in Medical Surgical nursing at a large hospital with 450 or more beds. Description: The role involves providing comprehensive nursing care in a medical surgical setting. The unit serves a diverse patient population with various diagnoses including chronic illnesses, GI issues, infections, neurological issues, and mental health disorders. Nurses may manage patients undergoing procedures such as colonoscopies, thoracentesis, bronchoscopy, and minor surgeries. General nursing duties include patient assessments, care planning, and inter-professional communication. Nurses will utilize electronic health records and medical equipment such as IV pumps, wound vacs, and telemetry monitoring. Patient-to-nurse ratios are 1:5-6. Nurses will rotate through different medical units based on needs. Dressing code consists of Caribbean Blue scrubs. A structured orientation program is provided for supplemental staff.
