Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Centralized Registry Float - Medical Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: RN License (IN or compact) Certifications: BLS through AHA Must-Have: Candidate must have at least 1.5 years of Level 1, Level 2, or tertiary experience. Candidate must have at least 1 year of experience in a large hospital (450+ beds). General Medical and Surgical nursing experience is essential. Description: We are seeking a Registered Nurse for a centralized registry float position focused on medical surgical nursing. Candidates should have diverse patient care experience, managing chronic illnesses such as COPD, diabetes, CHF, and end-stage renal disease. Experience in handling GI issues like pancreatitis, bleeding, and inflammatory bowel diseases is important. Candidates should also be familiar with managing infections including pneumonia, cellulitis, sepsis, and urinary tract infections. Experience with neurological issues such as stroke, dementia, and traumatic brain injuries is preferred. Candidates should be capable of caring for patients with mental health disorders like depression and anxiety. The patient population may require post-procedural care for procedures such as colonoscopies and minor surgeries. Candidates will perform general job duties including assessments, care planning, and inter-professional communication. Utilization of electronic health records is required, along with skills in IV therapy management and treatment plans. Candidates will work with various equipment including electronic record systems, IV pumps, and telemetry monitoring. Patient ratios are approximately 1:5-6. The position requires 12-hour shifts, including 3 weekend shifts within a 4-week period. Floating to other medical units may be necessary based on patient care needs. The dress code consists of Caribbean Blue scrubs. All candidates must be willing to complete a comprehensive orientation program.
