Travel Nurse RN - Medical-Surgical - $2,236 per week in Fort Wayne, IN

Job Title: RN Centralized Registry Float Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Med Surg (Medical Surgical) Duration: 22 weeks Shift: 12H Days Hours per Shift: 7am - 7pm Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Indiana RN license or compact license required Certifications: BLS through AHA required Must-Have: Candidate must have at least 1.5 years of Level 1, Level 2, or tertiary experience. Candidate must have at least 1 year of Med Surg experience at a large hospital with over 450 beds. Description: The unit cares for a diverse population of patients with varying diagnoses. Chronic illnesses managed include COPD, Diabetes, CHF, and end-stage renal disease. Gastrointestinal issues such as pancreatitis, bleeding, and inflammatory bowel diseases are also addressed. Patients may present with infections like pneumonia, cellulitis, sepsis, and UTIs. Neurological issues including stroke, dementia, and traumatic brain injuries are part of the patient population. Mental health disorders, including depression, anxiety, and substance abuse, are also managed. Patients undergo procedures such as colonoscopies, thoracentesis, and minor surgeries. General job duties include assessments, care planning, and inter-professional communication. Utilization of the electronic health record (EHR), IV pumps, wound vacs, and feeding pumps is required. Equipment used includes Epic electronic records, pyxis machines, and telemetry monitoring. Floating to other medical units may occur based on staffing needs. The patient-to-nurse ratio is 1:5-6. Dress code includes Caribbean blue scrubs. The scheduling requirement includes 12-hour shifts with three weekend shifts every four weeks. Participation in a comprehensive orientation program is required.
