Travel Nurse RN - Medical-Surgical - $2,236 per week in Fort Wayne, IN

Job Title: RN Centralized Registry Float Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13-week assignment Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 12 Hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience required License: State license or compact license required Certifications: BLS certification required Must-Have: Candidate must have at least 1.5 years of Level 1, Level 2 or tertiary experience. Candidate must have at least 1 year of experience in a large facility with over 450 beds. Description: General Medical and Surgical nursing care is provided for a diverse patient population. Patients may have chronic illnesses such as COPD, Diabetes, CHF, and end-stage renal disease. Management of GI issues like pancreatitis, bleeding, and inflammatory bowel diseases is expected. Infections such as pneumonia, cellulitis, sepsis, UTIs, and C-diff may be present in patients. Neurological issues including stroke, dementia, and traumatic brain injuries are also managed. Mental health disorders such as depression, anxiety, and substance abuse are part of care. Patients may undergo procedures like colonoscopies, thoracentesis, paracentesis, bronchoscopy, and minor surgeries. Expected job duties include assessments, care planning, and inter-professional communication. Utilization of electronic health records (EHR), IV pumps, wound vacs, and feeding pumps is required. Telemetry monitoring and management of heparin and insulin drips will be necessary. Patient ratios are typically 1:5-6. Shift requirement includes 3 weekend shifts within 4 weeks. Floating to other medical units may be required based on staffing needs. Dress code consists of Caribbean Blue scrubs. Charting system used is EPIC. This position does not require a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
