Job Title: RN - Med Surg Profession: Nursing Specialty: Agency Staff RN Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 12 Hours Experience: Minimum 2 Years License: Registered Nurse (RN) Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred Must-Have: - Experience with NGTs, drains, chest tubes, wound vacs, blood transfusions, mobilizing patients, and heparin drips - Excellent communication skills - Teamwork-oriented - Reliable and able to complete standard work Description: Delivers nursing care responsibly and accountably as described professionally by the American Nurses Association (ANA) and legally by the state. Demonstrates competency through critical thinking using the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Upholds the standards of professional performance as described by the ANA. This includes ethical practice, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice and research, quality of practice, professional practice evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health. Strives to achieve optimal outcomes. Education: Required Associate's Degree in Nursing. Required completion of a Bachelor’s Degree in Science in Nursing within specified time frames depending on the hire date. Experience: Successful completion of a competency-based orientation program. Essential Functions: Provides evidence-based nursing care consistent with the interprofessional plan of care.
