Job Title: RN Med-Surg Profession: Nursing Specialty: Agency Staff RN Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years License: RN License in the State of Michigan Certifications: BLS, Preferred - ACLS Must-Have: - Successful completion of a competency-based orientation program - Excellent written, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills - Time management and organizational skills - Ability to maintain confidentiality - Competency in various computer hardware and software systems Description: Delivers nursing care responsively and accountably as described professionally by the American Nurses Association (ANA) and legally by the State of Michigan. Demonstrates competency through the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. This includes assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Upholds the standards of professional performance as described by the ANA. Strives to achieve optimal patient outcomes. Provides evidence-based nursing care consistent with the interprofessional plan of care. Communicates and collaborates with other members of the healthcare team. Acts as a patient/family advocate. Evaluates patient and family educational needs. Initiates patient discharge planning at the time of patient contact. Engages in activities related to the professional role. Participates in ongoing improvement activities that contribute to quality patient care. Completes all position and unit safety-related competencies and requirements on a timely basis.
