Travel Nurse RN - Medical-Surgical - $2,236 per week in Saint Joseph, MI

Job Title: RN Med-Surg Profession: Nursing Specialty: Agency Staff RN Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 12 Hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years' experience in Med-Surg units. Experience with surgical patients such as nephrectomy, colectomy, amputation, ostomy, and drains required. Experience with negative pressure dressings, pain pumps, TPN, and central lines preferred. License: Registered Nurse (RN) License required. Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) required. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred. Must-Have: Excellent written, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills. Time management and organizational skills. Ability to make quality independent decisions. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to maintain the strictest levels of confidentiality. Must possess competency in the use of various computer hardware and software systems. Description: Delivers nursing care responsibly and accountably as described professionally by the American Nurses Association (ANA). Demonstrates competency through the nursing process which includes assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Upholds the standards of professional performance as described by the ANA. Strives to achieve optimal patient outcomes. Provides evidence-based nursing care consistent with interprofessional plans of care and in accordance with policies and procedures. Communicates and collaborates with other members of the healthcare team to ensure continuity of care. Acts as a patient and family advocate. Performs point of care testing as required. Demonstrates a high standard of moral, ethical, and culturally sensitive behavior. Formulates decisions and actions based on ethical principles. Advocates for privacy, confidentiality, and security of patient and organizational data. Assesses the overall needs of the patient and analyzes assessment data to identify potential diagnoses or issues. Identifies expected outcomes and develops and implements patient care plans. Evaluates patient and family educational needs and employs appropriate teaching strategies. Initiates patient discharge planning from the first patient contact. Ensures that required documentation is accurate and timely. Assumes an autonomous leadership role and delegates appropriately to unlicensed assistive personnel. Engages in professional development activities to advance knowledge and competence in nursing practice. Actively participates in safety initiatives and completes all related competencies and requirements timely. Performs other duties as assigned.
