Job Title: Registered Nurse - Med/Surg Profession: RN - Med/Surg Specialty: RN - Med/Surg Duration: 8 weeks Shift: Day Shift Hours per Shift: 36 or 48 hours per week Experience: Acute care facility experience preferred License: Registered Nurse licensure in the state of practice required Certifications: Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required Must-Have: Experience with EPIC and Cerner Description: Deliver coordinated nursing care for a patient or an assigned group of patients according to established standards of care. Supervise and direct the activities of various levels of assigned nursing staff. Coordinate care with other disciplines while utilizing critical thinking, professional and supervisory discretion, and independent judgment. Collect relevant data pertinent to the patients' health or situation. Analyze assessment data to determine diagnosis and care issues. Develop a plan that prescribes interventions to attain outcomes. Implement the plan, coordinate care delivery, and employ strategies to promote health and a safe environment. Evaluate progress toward attaining outcomes. Identify outcomes for the patient or the patient's situation. Collaborate with the patient, family, and healthcare providers in providing patient care in a safe, healing, humane, and caring environment. Provide learning opportunities for patients, family members, and team members. Directly provide health information to patients, families, and the treatment team. Participate in discharge planning to provide continuity of care. Delegate appropriately and coordinate duties of healthcare team members. Perform other job-related duties as assigned. Adhere to the commitment to safety and well-being of associates and patients by receiving all required vaccinations as a condition of employment. Medical and religious exemptions may apply. Participate in E-Verify as required. Schedule requirements include potential on-call shifts, floating as needed, and rotating weekend coverage. Staffing ratios include one lead, one RN for five patients, three CNAs, and one unit clerk. Utilize a medication system for management and a documentation system for records. Communicate effectively using established protocols. Ensure pharmacy and phlebotomy services are available 24/7. Transportation services provided for imaging as needed. Unit secretary available during designated hours. Hospitalists available around the clock.
