Highlights:
36-bed Med/Surg Oncology unit specializing in hematology oncology and adolescent/young adult (AYA) patient populations
Diverse patient diagnoses including lymphoma, multiple myeloma, acute and chronic leukemias, sickle cell disease, and other hematologic conditions
Telemetry monitoring on unit with interpretation of dysrhythmias; interdisciplinary support including rapid response teams, pharmacy, and therapy services
Chemotherapy administration, blood transfusions, IV antibiotics, management of oncologic emergencies (tumor lysis syndrome, cytokine release syndrome), insulin and heparin drips
EPIC electronic medical record system; orientation of 72 hours provided
Floating to other Med/Surg and Oncology units as needed; ONS certification preferred with additional compensation incentive
Requirements:
Active RN license (Compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission)
Minimum 2 years of current acute care Med/Surg experience required (must be actively working in specialty within the last 12 months)
BLS and ACLS certification required
ONS (Oncology Nursing Certification) preferred
EPIC charting system experience required
Strong skills in telemetry interpretation, IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood product administration, central line management, PICC line care, and feeding tube management
Experience with ports, chemotherapy administration, and isolation precautions strongly preferred
Nursing education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccine not required
2 professional references required (at least 1 from manager/director or formal leadership)
Must complete urgent fingerprinting process upon contract signing
