Key Responsibilities of the Travel Nurse
- Provide nursing care to patients with a variety of medical-surgical and oncology diagnoses.
- Administer chemotherapy and manage side effects per protocol (if certified).
- Monitor patient condition, document progress, and adjust care plans as necessary.
- Collaborate closely with physicians, case managers, and oncology specialists.
- Educate patients and families regarding disease processes and treatment plans.
- Adhere strictly to infection control and hospital safety policies.
Requirements of the Travel Nurse
- Active New Mexico RN license (or compact eligible).
- BLS certification required; ONS chemotherapy certification preferred.
- ACLS certification may be required depending on facility.
- Minimum 2 years' recent MedSurg and/or Oncology nursing experience.
- Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills.
- Comfortable working night shifts in a fast-paced inpatient setting.
