Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: Rehabilitation Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-Hour Nights Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year License: Active Illinois license or confirmation of application process Certifications: BLS Must-Have: Strong Neuro Skills Description: This position is for a Registered Nurse in an acute rehabilitation setting. The unit consists of 29 beds with patient ratios of 5:1 during the day and 6:1 at night. Common patient diagnoses include neuro, neurosurgery, amputations, multi-trauma, cardiac, and complex medical cases. RNs are required to attend team conferences for acute inpatient rehab. Charge nurses are not present; house supervisors will be available for support. There are nurse aides on the unit with a ratio of 1:9 to 10. Physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, and pulmonary or cardiac rehab services are available. Respiratory therapy will provide CPAP/BiPAP support only at night for sleep apnea, along with a nasal cannula. Shifts are from 7 PM to 7:30 AM. Weekend commitment is every other weekend, and holiday rotation will occur every other holiday. Nurses may float to other units as necessary, but will not float to certain areas unless trained. Any color scrubs are acceptable, but t-shirts require approval. Unit-specific orientation will be provided, which includes learning specific documentation requirements. The charting system used is EPIC.
