Travel Nurse RN - Medical-Surgical - $2,338 per week in Red Bluff, CA

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Medical-Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12 Hour Nights Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 2-3 years License: Required Certifications: BLS Certification ACLS (AHA) Certificate PALS Preferred Must-Have: Pediatric experience preferred or candidates will not be assigned to pediatric patients. Experience in titrating heparin drips. Knowledge of common tele monitoring practices. Description: This position is for a registered nurse in a medical-surgical setting. The unit consists of adult and pediatric medical-surgical telemetry combined. The average patient length of stay is approximately three days. Candidates should have experience managing a variety of diagnoses, including COPD, post-operative patients, GI bleeds, Client surgeries, orthopedic cases, sepsis, altered mental status, chest pain rule out, stroke, cellulitis, and alcohol withdrawal. The nurse to patient ratio is 1 to 5. Nurses will work alongside nursing aides who cover shifts, though there may be periods without tech coverage. Common equipment utilized in the unit includes CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow devices. Self-scheduling is permitted to some degree, with schedules made out approximately 30-45 days in advance. All staff are required to work every other weekend or four weekend shifts over a four-week schedule. There is a requirement to work holidays as part of the permanent staff rotation. Nurses may float to telemetry or obstetrics if they have the necessary experience. The fast-paced environment necessitates the ability to quickly adapt to patient flow and workload.
