Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 2+ years of medical surgical experience License: Michigan RN License required Certifications: BLS (AHA) required Must-Have: - Experience in Level II or I Trauma - Straight RN Medical Surgical experience Description: This is a challenging fast-paced environment with excellent learning opportunities for both graduate and experienced nurses. Nursing in this unit is patient-centered and focused on patient safety and quality care for positive patient outcomes. Every team member's contribution towards providing excellent patient care that is evidence-based and holistic is valued. An active and engaged Unit Based Council promotes a healthy work environment of teamwork and positivity. New team members are welcomed and supported during their orientation as they learn and grow in their nursing practice. Clinical pathways, patient education, and interactive communication guide all aspects of patient care. Collaboration with other members of the healthcare team is essential to develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans. Seeking life-long learning through certification, advanced practice, higher education, and literature review is encouraged. Demonstrating leadership through sharing knowledge and serving as a clinical resource is expected. Effective communication through collegial relationships and interdisciplinary communication is essential. Enhanced time management skills and the ability to assist others contribute to the overall performance of the team. Additional duties may be assigned consistent with job objectives. Attendance is crucial, and a strict attendance policy is enforced. Absenteeism or lateness may lead to immediate termination. Situations such as communicable diseases or hospitalization with supporting evidence will be reviewed in favor of the individual.
