Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Rehabilitation - Med/Surg Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 2 years of recent Med Surg Rehab experience License: Active RN license Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: - Charge RN experience - Previous travel experience of at least 3 months - BSN preferred - Must have a vehicle Description: The role involves combining medical-surgical nursing with intensive rehabilitation. Focus will be on patients recovering from surgery, serious illness, or injury. The aim is to restore function and independence through therapy and specialized nursing care. You may be required to serve as a backup Charge Nurse. You will coordinate total nursing care for patients. Patient and family teaching is part of the responsibilities. Leadership is demonstrated by collaborating with nursing and ancillary personnel. Maintaining standards for professional nursing practice in a clinical setting is expected. You may float between acute rehab and Med Surg units as needed. Willingness to float to other units within the scope of practice is required. Daily patient census averages 22 with a nurse to patient ratio of 1 to 4/5. Every other weekend and holiday shifts may be required. All scheduling requests must be made prior to submission. Requests for time off must be included in the profile at the time of submission. Late requests for time off after submission may not be approved. A firm requirement is that all candidates must have their own vehicle. This position is located in a small community with no public transport. Compliance with attendance requirements is crucial.
