Job details:
Position: RN - Med Surg
Location: Springfield, IL.
Shift: Days – 3x12s (7:15 AM – 6:45 PM) 36hrs/week
Duration: 13 weeks
Job Duties
Provide nursing care to patients (mainly oncology and medical-surgical cases)
Administer and monitor chemotherapy treatments
Start and manage IV lines, PICC lines, and ports
Give medications, including blood and blood products
Monitor patient condition and report any changes
Recognize and handle side effects (nausea, pain, infections, etc.)
Check and report abnormal lab results
Care for patients with conditions like cancer, infections, and chronic illness
Support patients and families with education and emotional care
Maintain accurate patient records (using Cerner system)
Follow safety protocols, including handling hazardous drugs
Work with other healthcare teams (doctors, therapists, etc.)
Float to other units if required
