Travel Nurse RN - Medical-Surgical - $2,398 per week in Wheeling, WV

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12 hour day/night rotate Hours per Shift: 36 hours per week Experience: 2 years License: Unexpired driver's license required Certifications: BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: RN must be comfortable with patient ratios up to 1:7 Description: This position is for a Medical Surgical unit with a capacity of 30 beds. The nurse-patient ratio is 1:6/7, increasing to 1:7 as needed. Common diagnoses include congestive heart failure, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, cellulitis, recovery from surgery, cholecystectomy, appendicitis, pneumonia, urosepsis, and acute kidney injury. One charge nurse will be present on the floor with assignments. Patient care technicians (PCTs) provide support on the unit. RNs may be required to titrate heparin drips based on APTT results. Respiratory equipment such as vents is not used on this unit, but intermittent BIPAP is available. The unit is monitored remotely by technology specialists. Shifts are scheduled based on needs and can include every other weekend. There is no standby or call requirement for this position. Floating may occur based on patient census, with external travelers floated first. Scrub color is navy blue. Please note that this position does not require a BSN. The charting system used is EPIC. This position is located in an acute care setting.
