Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Surgical (Med Surg) | Days & Nights Available | Local & Travel

United Health Care Staffing is currently seeking experienced Registered Nurses (RNs) for a 13-week Medical Surgical (Med Surg) contract at a respected Critical Access Hospital in Hamilton, New York. Both day and night shifts are available, and local as well as travel candidates are welcome to apply.

Position Details:

• Specialty: Medical Surgical (Med Surg)
• Location: Hamilton, NY
• Contract Length: 13 Weeks (with high possibility of extension)
• Schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (36 guaranteed hours/week)
• Shift Options: Days (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM) & Nights Available (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• No On-Call Required

Job Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult Medical Surgical patients.
• Perform patient assessments and develop individualized care plans.
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately.
• Monitor patient conditions and communicate changes to the healthcare team.
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans and discharge instructions.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation using the Sorian EMR system.
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality patient care.

• CHF (Congestive Heart Failure)
• COPD
• Syncope
• Non-STEMI
• Diabetic Ketoacidosis (DKA)
• Wound Care
• Total Hip Replacement (THR)
• Total Knee Replacement (TKR)
• Lumbar Surgery
• General Surgery
• COVID-19
• Rare Pediatric Patients

Requirements:

• Active RN License
• Minimum 2 years of Medical Surgical RN experience
• Previous travel experience required
• BLS Certification (Required)
• ACLS & PALS (Preferred)
• Experience with Sorian EMR preferred
