Travel Nurse RN - Medical-Surgical - $2,437 per week in Little Rock, AR

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Medical/Surgical Duration: 12 weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 years License: Required Certifications: BLS (AHA) Must-Have: Basic medical/surgical relevant and current experience. Large hospital experience. No first-time travelers. Description: Float pool position between medical oncology, surgical units, and medical units. Patient-to-nurse ratio is 6:1. Total care is provided with no patient care assistants. Occasional strip reading is required but no telemetry. Unit is transitioning to a new electronic health record system in November 2026. The unit has 128 beds. Common patient diagnoses include surgical services such as colorectal, hepatobiliary, bariatric, and general surgery. Medical conditions include diabetes, heart disease, COPD, kidney, and gastrointestinal conditions. RNs are not required to titrate drips. Charge nurse is present on each shift and takes an assignment. Nurse aides/patient care techs are available, with varying ratios and duties. Respiratory therapy is available for equipment troubleshooting. Remote telemetry monitoring is used; RNs are not required to read their own strips. Staff scheduling is done based on needs. Weekend coverage is required every other week. No holiday requirement. No on-call or standby requirement. Floating to any medical/surgical pod is required. Scrub color is navy, and scrubs are not provided. Three shifts of unit-specific orientation are conducted. Cancellation policy allows for up to four shifts to be canceled during a 13-week assignment. Charting system currently in use is Cerner, transitioning to a new system in November 2026. A BSN is not required. Trauma level of the setting is 2. Care is provided in an acute setting.
