This unit is dedicated to delivering evidence-based, protocol-driven care with a strong emphasis on patient safety, rapid intervention, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
As a Registered Nurse on this unit, you will manage a diverse patient population, focusing on frequent neurological assessments, cardiac monitoring, and adherence to stroke core measures. You will play a critical role in patient safety, managing admissions, discharges, and overall patient flow within a dynamic, high-turnover environment.
Key Responsibilities
Perform and document frequent neurological assessments, including the NIH Stroke Scale.
Monitor and accurately interpret telemetry rhythms, responding to changes in real-time.
Ensure compliance with stroke core measures, including dysphagia screening, patient education, and care plan development.
Administer medications following Bar Code Medication Administration (BCMA) standards, emphasizing safety and accuracy.
Coordinate comprehensive patient care with an interdisciplinary team, including providers, therapy services, and case management.
Manage patient admissions, discharges, and overall patient flow efficiently within a high-turnover environment.
Maintain a constant focus on patient safety initiatives, including falls prevention and skin integrity.
Work collaboratively within a primary and team nursing model.
Required Qualifications
Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
Ability to accurately read and interpret basic cardiac rhythm strips.
