Job Opportunity – Medical-Surgical Stroke Stepdown RN – New York
Start Date: October 12, 2026
Location: Upstate New York
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: Night shift, 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM; 64-bed unit; floating required as needed
Highlights:
Specialized stroke stepdown unit with diverse case mix including stroke patients, altered mental status, renal/dialysis, COPD, CHF, and general medical-surgical conditions
Work with adult patient population requiring intermediate care and monitoring
EPIC electronic medical record system
Experience with specialty equipment including IV pumps, NG tubes, and feeding tubes
Night shift position in a high-acuity stepdown environment
Opportunity to develop expertise in stroke care and complex medical-surgical cases
Requirements:
Active New York RN license (all state licenses must be active and verified)
Minimum 2+ years of Medical-Surgical experience with stroke stepdown expertise
Documented travel nursing experience required
Current AHA BLS certification
NIHSS (NIH Stroke Scale) certification required (can be obtained prior to start date)
EPIC EMR experience preferred
Valid driver's license
Completed skills checklist and references
