Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse / Medical-Surgical Stroke Stepdown – New York
Start Date: October 19, 2026
Location: Central New York
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: Night shift, 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM; 64-bed unit with floating required as needed
Highlights:
Medical-Surgical Stroke Stepdown unit specializing in stroke care, altered mental status, renal/dialysis, COPD, CHF, and general medical-surgical conditions
Work with adult patient population utilizing specialty equipment including IV pumps, NG tubes, and feeding tubes
EPIC EMR system in use
Travel nursing experience required; local candidates welcome
Navy blue scrubs
NIH Stroke Scale certification required (may be obtained prior to start date)
Requirements:
Active New York RN license (must be verified through NURSYS)
Minimum 2+ years of experience in Medical-Surgical nursing with stroke stepdown experience
Documented travel nursing experience required
Current AHA BLS certification
NIHSS (NIH Stroke Scale) certification required or must be obtained before start date
Valid driver's license
EPIC EMR experience preferred
