Description:
Strict 75-mile radius rule applies.
1 year experience required with 1 travel assignment.
The unit is an Observation Unit with a high turnover rate.
There are 22 beds in the unit with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:5 or 1:6.
Charge nurse staffing is required, and the charge nurse occasionally takes on patients.
CNA support is available if staffing allows.
The unit does not utilize vents but is equipped for heavy telemetry monitoring.
RNs are responsible for reading telemetry strips, and monitoring is conducted centrally.
Weekends are required every other week, and holiday requirements involve rotation with permanent staff.
There is no call or standby requirement.
Staff may be required to float to MedSurg.
The dress code consists of Caribbean Blue tops and bottoms or white tops with Caribbean Blue bottoms.
This is a fast-paced unit with discharges and admissions occurring frequently.
Staff members are responsible for conducting EKGs and drawing labs independently.
The unit is designed for acute care settings.
Please note all relevant certifications are required.
