Key Responsibilities of the Travel Neuro MedSurg Registered Nurse:
- Provide specialized care to patients with neurological conditions, trauma, or post-neurosurgical needs
- Monitor and assess neurological status, including level of consciousness and motor/sensory function
- Administer medications, perform treatments, and respond to changes in patient condition promptly
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other team members to develop individualized care plans
- Educate patients and families on recovery processes, safety, and discharge instructions
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the EMR system
Requirements of the Travel Neuro MedSurg Registered Nurse:
- Active RN license (Illinois or compact state)
- BLS and NIHSS certifications required.
- Minimum of 2 years of recent Neuro MedSurg RN experience in an acute care hospital
- Strong neurological assessment and critical thinking skills
- Team-oriented and compassionate approach to patient care
