Travel Nurse RN - Medical-Surgical - $2,612 per week in Wilmington, NC

Job Opportunity – Medical/Surgical Registered Nurse – North Carolina

Start Date: October 5, 2026

Location: Wilmington, North Carolina

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 12-hour night shifts (18:45 – 07:15), 36 or 48 hours per week. Every other weekend required. Holiday coverage required. Contract length 13-26 weeks.

Highlights:

• 43-bed general medical/surgical unit serving adult and geriatric populations with daily census of approximately 43 patients
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6, with charge role preferred for night shift clinicians
• Epic charting system with Pyxis medication management and SBAR communication protocols
• Comprehensive 24-hour orientation provided to ensure unit familiarity and competency
• Exposure to heparin drips, wound vac management, high flow oxygen, and limited BiPap support with respiratory assistance
• Interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and social services

Requirements:

• Current North Carolina or Compact State RN license
• Minimum 2 years of recent medical/surgical nursing experience
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Epic charting experience required
• Proficiency in EKG interpretation and dysrhythmia management; must pass EKG testing prior to start date
• Experience with IV insertion and maintenance, insulin protocols, peripheral line management, and surgical drain care
• Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) training preferred
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• First-time travelers accepted
• Ability to float to similar units and alternate care locations as needed
• Willingness and availability to work during inclement weather events, mass casualty situations, or natural disasters as part of assigned Storm/Hurricane Team
• Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
