Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, 36 or 48 hours per week; every other weekend required; nurse-to-patient ratio 1:6-7
Highlights:
Specialized orthopedic and neurological trauma unit caring for patients with severe bone, joint, and soft tissue injuries, traumatic brain injuries, spine injuries, and subdural hematomas
Epic charting system with Pyxis medication management and SBAR communication protocols
Comprehensive orientation including 12-hour unit orientation and 16-hour organizational education
Contract duration starting September 2026 with up to 7 days pre-approved time off (excluding holidays)
Interdisciplinary team support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, rapid response teams, lift teams, pharmacy, and more
First-time travelers accepted; local candidates welcome
Requirements:
Active RN license (North Carolina or Compact license)
Minimum 2 years of recent nursing experience within the last 5 years
BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
Epic documentation experience required
Must pass EKG testing prior to start date
Proficiency in heparin drips, PCA management, blood product administration, central and peripheral line care, PICC line management, IV starts, and phlebotomy
Experience with colostomy care, feeding tube management, isolation precautions, wound care, chest tubes, tracheostomy management, and management of dysrhythmias
Competence with O2 protocol management, non-invasive airway management, surgical drains, and traumatic brain injury care
Must be comfortable with 1:6-7 patient ratios and floating to similar units
