Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality medical-surgical and perioperative nursing care for acutely ill adult patients
- Perform thorough patient assessments and implement individualized care plans
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and the OR team to ensure safe perioperative transitions
- Administer medications and advanced life support interventions as required
- Monitor patient status using evidence-based practice and escalate concerns promptly
- Educate patients and families about post-operative care and recovery expectations
- Document care accurately in the electronic health record and maintain clear communication with multidisciplinary team members
Qualifications
- Current, unencumbered Oregon RN license required upon submission
- BLS (AHA Healthcare Provider) required
- ACLS required
- NIHSS certification required
- Experience in Medical-Surgical Nursing and Operating Room (OR) preferred
- Specialty certification in Medical-Surgical Nursing strongly encouraged and supported
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong medical-surgical assessment and clinical judgment skills
- Perioperative and OR experience and familiarity with surgical workflows
- Knowledge of ACLS protocols and NIHSS stroke assessment
- Proficient documentation skills in electronic health records
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Ability to prioritize care in a fast-paced, acute surgical setting
