Travel RN – Med-Surg / Colorectal Surgery (Days)

Schedule / Job Type
Contract – 13-Week Travel Assignment | Full-Time | Onsite | Day Shift (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
Key Responsibilities
- Provide post-surgical nursing care for patients who have undergone colorectal and urologic procedures
- Collaborate closely with Wound, Ostomy, and Continence (WOC) Nurses to address ostomy and wound care needs
- Manage and monitor post-operative patients requiring TPN, nasogastric tubes, and central lines
- Accurately document all patient care activities using Epic EMR
- Adhere to unit-specific protocols, dress code requirements (navy blue scrubs), and scheduling policies
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in New York State
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a 600+ bed academic hospital setting (competency testing required at submission)
- Minimum of 2 years of experience waives competency testing requirement
- Proficiency with Epic EMR is required
- Must be a travel candidate (local candidates from ineligible counties are not accepted per facility policy)
- Must be available to complete competency assessment within 24 hours of submission
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Background in colon and rectal surgery or a related surgical specialty
- Experience with ostomy care, wound management, and complex post-operative patient populations
- Familiarity with TPN administration and central line management in an acute care setting
