Contract | 13-Week Travel Assignment | Full-Time | Onsite | Days (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM) | Weekends as needed

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide routine and complex nursing care for post-surgical patients including orthopedic, general surgery, and neurological populations utilizing the full nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
  • Administer medications and treatments per appropriate protocols; monitor for side effects and effectiveness of prescribed therapies.
  • Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in accordance with scope of practice.
  • Document patient history, symptoms, medications administered, and care provided accurately and thoroughly.
  • Assess patient and family learning needs; provide education and identify appropriate resources.
  • Make appropriate assignments and delegate to other care providers as needed to effectively manage the clinical situation.
Required Qualifications
  • Active RN license in the state of employment or a valid compact nursing license.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a Medical/Surgical nursing specialty.
  • Ability to practice independently in the same or similar clinical setting and manage complex, contingent clinical situations.
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Experience with EPIC electronic health records system.
  • Background working with post-surgical orthopedic, general surgery, or neuro patient populations.
