Key Responsibilities
Provide routine and complex nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients
Administer medications and treatments per appropriate protocol; monitor for side effects and effectiveness of prescribed treatments
Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in accordance with scope of practice
Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided accurately and thoroughly
Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers; identify issues and available resources
Make appropriate assignments and delegate to other care providers as needed to effectively manage clinical situations
Required Qualifications
Active RN license in state of employment or valid compact license
BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required
Minimum 1 year of experience in a Medical/Surgical or related nursing specialty
Ability to practice independently and manage complex, contingent clinical situations
Preferred Experience / Skills
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Experience with EPIC electronic health records system
Background working with post-surgical populations including orthopedics, general surgery, and neurology patients
