Travel RN – Medical Surgical (Nights)

Contract | 13-Week Travel Assignment | Nights, 3x12 (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | 36 Guaranteed Hours per Week | Onsite

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care on a 32-bed Medical Surgical unit serving surgical and med/surg overflow patients including orthopedic, urologic, bowel, pulmonary, and cardiac cases
  • Monitor patients utilizing remote telemetry monitored by the ICU team
  • Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately within the EPIC EMR system
  • Maintain a patient ratio of up to 1:6 and adapt to census-driven needs
  • Float to other med/surg departments as needed
  • Adhere to standby call requirements, remaining available to report during the scheduled 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM shift window if placed on standby
Required Qualifications
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Minimum 2 years of Medical Surgical nursing experience
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) only
  • Flu vaccination required for assignments running November 1 through April 1; declinations and exceptions are not accepted
  • Willingness to wear black scrubs per dress code policy
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from AHA only
  • PALS or CPEN certification
  • Experience in surgical, med/surg, or related specialty environments
  • Friendly, outgoing personality with flexibility and strong team-player attitude
