Perform patient assessments every 8 hours or more frequently as indicated by clinical condition, and notify the physician of admissions and obtain admitting orders per departmental policy
Collaborate in the development and ongoing review of outcome-oriented care plans, incorporating patient and family input and prioritizing care delivery based on patient needs
Implement the nursing plan of care for an assigned group of Med/Surg patients, including administering medications following the five medication rights and performing or assisting with procedures
Monitor patients via remote telemetry (monitored by ICU) and communicate significant changes in patient condition or medical orders in a timely manner
Complete accurate and timely documentation of care and pertinent data in EPIC EMR, ensuring nursing charts are opened by mid-shift and documentation is completed by end of shift
Float on a rotational basis as required; work every other Friday and Saturday night as part of the expected weekend rotation
Required Qualifications
Current RN license; must meet eligibility criteria for licensure in the state of Oklahoma (or currently licensed in Oklahoma)
BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) only
Minimum 2+ years of Med/Surg nursing experience
Proficiency with EPIC EMR
Ability to wear black scrubs in accordance with facility dress code
Preferred Experience / Skills
ACLS certification preferred
Experience caring for patients with COPD, pneumonia, chest pain, and similar Med/Surg diagnoses
Outgoing, team-oriented personality with flexibility and strong interpersonal communication skills
