Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a 32-bed Medical-Surgical Orthopedics unit with patient ratios of 1:6 to 1:7 on night shift
- Manage and monitor patients recovering from neurosurgeries (kyphoplasty, decompression, laminectomy), fracture repairs, bariatric surgery, and general surgery procedures
- Operate and maintain unit equipment including PCAs, on-Q pumps, Hoyer lifts, traction devices, and wound vacs
- Perform nursing procedures including NGT tube management, IV placement, and foley catheter management
- Document patient care accurately using Meditech EMR
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including charge nurses and patient care technicians to ensure safe, high-quality patient outcomes
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Minimum 1 year of acute care experience, preferably in a medical-surgical setting
- Flexibility with scheduling, including rotating weekends
- No on-call requirements
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with Meditech EMR charting
- Proficiency with NGT tubes, IV placement, and foley management
- Strong time management skills and an upbeat, team-oriented personality
