Registered Nurse – Medical/Surgical (Travel)

Schedule / Job Type
Contract (13 Weeks) | Night Shift | 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM | Expected 36 hours/week | Every other weekend required
Key Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care on a 24-bed General Medicine unit with a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio
Administer medications and treatments utilizing Barcode Medication Administration (BCMA)
Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately within Epic EMR
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate and deliver patient-centered care
Float to other units within the acute care division as needed
Adhere to dress code requirements, including navy blue scrubs and compliance with TJC and CMS fingernail and footwear guidelines
Required Qualifications
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in Alabama or a compact state
Minimum 2 years of acute care nursing experience
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
Proficiency with BCMA systems
Strong time management and interdisciplinary communication skills
Preferred Experience / Skills
Prior experience with Epic EMR
Background in General Medicine or Med/Surg patient populations
