Contract | Full-Time | Onsite | Day Shift | 12-Hour Shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM) | Every 3rd Weekend Required | Holiday Rotation
Key Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care on a 34-bed Surgical Acute unit serving general medical, neurological, orthopedic, and surgical patient populations
Maintain a patient assignment of 4–5 patients per shift, with potential for up to 6 patients based on unit needs
Monitor telemetry in coordination with centralized telemetry staff who read and interpret strips
Collaborate with Patient Care Technicians (1 PCT per 8–10 patients) and Respiratory Therapy, who manage all RT equipment including vents, CPAP, and BiPAP
Participate in holiday rotation and float to other units on an occasional basis
Required Qualifications
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois, or confirmation that the application process has been initiated
Minimum of 1 year of RN experience
Current BLS certification
Current NIHSS certification
Must comply with a drug-free workplace policy and produce a negative drug screen for all panels
Preferred Experience / Skills
Experience in a medical-surgical, neurological, orthopedic, or surgical acute care setting
Familiarity with telemetry monitoring in an acute care environment
Travel nursing experience with ability to complete an abbreviated unit orientation
