Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical unit with patient ratios of approximately 1:5–6, with acuity-dependent variation
Read and interpret telemetry strips using Phillips monitoring equipment
Perform aerosol treatments for non-vented patients and conduct EKGs
Collaborate with CNAs, charge nurses, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and IV team to coordinate patient care
Care for patients with common diagnoses including CHF, chest pain, pneumonia, COPD, chronic renal disease, cardiac cath, orthopedic, and oncology conditions
Participate in floor-specific orientation with a preceptor (1–2 shifts)
Required Qualifications
Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Proficiency with EPIC EMR
Ability to read and interpret cardiac telemetry strips
Valid, unexpired driver's license (copy required at submission)
Compliance with facility dress code: Royal Blue scrubs; no false nails permitted
Preferred Experience / Skills
Prior experience in a Medical Surgical or step-down setting
Familiarity with Accudose pharmacy dispensing systems
Experience with CPAP/BiPAP patient monitoring in a non-critical care environment
